180,000 man-hours of construction work went into the Grand Pavilion.

The building features 45 kilometres of high tensile reinforcing cable, 8,900 tonnes of concrete, 1,798 light fittings, 8 kilometres of colour bond roof sheeting and 1,700m² of glass. The total building floor area is equal to almost 2 football fields, or 18 suburban house blocks.
